HOWLEY, John;  (born Melbourne, 1931). Studied at National Gallery School, Melbourne, 
1949-1953. He worked in Europe and Israel 1960-1967. He is best known for his
Semi-Expressionist paintings, which first came to notice in the 1950’s. He has Participated
in Solo/Group Exhibitions in Melbourne, Sydney, Japan, USA, Hong Kong. He won the
Victorian College of Arts Grant 1972/73. His work is represented in Collections around
Australia, and overseas.
